Regenerative Therapies

A natural and beneficial solution to fight hair loss.

Frequently asked

Questions

What are regenerative therapies for hair loss?

Regenerative therapies are non-surgical treatments such as platelet rich plasma, micro needling and laser/LED therapies that give the signal to your scalp to regenerate itself. Platelet rich plasma consists of multiple superficial injections into the scalp of micro drops of blood serum from which the red blood cells and white blood cells will have been eliminated so that only the platelets and remain. Once injected under the skin, the platelets release very powerful growth factors which act on the level of the hair follicles to stimulate their development and slow down aging. The quality of the hair is therefore greatly improved (texture, thickness, pigment) as well as the density, especially if the baldness is at an initial stage and it is then still possible to reverse its process.

How long does a treatment last?

The duration of a treatment is 45-60 min plus 30 min of biostimulation to start (a helmet that emits special low-level lasers for scalp stimulation).

Is this treatment painful?

For some treatments, prior to injecting the plasma, local anesthesia or numbing cream may be used for sensitive clients. There is no pain after the treatment and no recovery time. Because we combine platelet rich plasma with micro needling, patients may experience a tingling or pinching sensation during the session but very tolerable.

Is there a downtime after the treatment?

The treatment is simple, quick, painless and without downtime with minimal side effects. There may be slight redness in the treated area, small bruises, tenderness and sometimes headaches.

How soon can I expect to see results?

A period of 6 months is recommended to see more realistic results, but they could also be seen before. The results vary from person to person since we are all different.

Regenerative therapies should be placed in a global context of hair restoration which must include, depending on the seriousness of the problem, other therapeutic modalities, such as the prescription of drugs and sometimes traditional or follicular extraction hair transplantation. The patient will then take advantage of the synergy thus created, to achieve a more adequate control of hair loss.

How do I know if I am a good candidate?

This treatment is intended for anyone suffering from a mild to moderate stage of androgenetic alopecia (hereditary baldness) or wishing to improve the quality of their hair.

Any patient undergoing a hair transplant is also a candidate for this treatment which will be carried out during the surgery to improve the survival rate of the grafts and accelerate their regrowth more quickly.

Are there any contraindications to this treatment?

The only contraindication to this treatment is the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as ibuprofen, aspirin, naproxen, etc.) within the 2 weeks of the treatment.

What areas can be treated?

We can perform this treatment on the scalp for androgenic alopecia, but we can also perform it to rejuvenate the face, neck/décolletage and hands.

How can I start?

A consultation with one of our doctors is necessary to assess whether you are a good candidate for this treatment.
