Frequently asked

Questions

What are Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels work by exfoliating the skin’s surface to reduce the appearance of blemishes, smooth skin texture, improve radiance, and restore skin health. Chemical peels come in many different strengths and acidic formulations ranging from superficial to higher penetrating peels.

Am I a suitable candidate?

The type of chemical peel used depends on the condition of the skin, the skin color and likelihood to burn and the skincare habits of the client A consultation by one of our senior medical technicians is best to better understand the most appropriate type of chemical peel for your specific skin type. Different peel options may be suggested, depending on what desired results one wishes to obtain.

What kind of Chemical Peels are available at your clinic?

For various treatment options, Clinic DHD offers different types of peels:

  • Glycolic Peels (Most common alpha-hydroxy acid peels)Provides a light to moderate exfoliation to help improve hyperpigmentation and melasma. Improves skin texture and minimizes pores size. By eliminating dead skin cells, better product penetration is also obtained. This peel can benefit all skin types but is ideal for oily skins.
  • Salicylic Acid (Beta Hydroxy Acid)This peel helps to decongest pores filled with oil and dead cells. Has great anti-inflammatory effects that can lower inflammation, redness and swelling caused by acne. Also, this peel helps improve melasma and pigmentation.

Is there any pain or downtime?

How many treatments will I need?

3-4 consecutive treatments spaced out once every 2 weeks can help improve the overall appearance of the skin. Maintenance treatments are encouraged to keep results for longer periods of time. Often, peels are used in combination with other facial treatments such as BBL Forever Young.
