What is a beard\/eyebrow transplantation?<\/h3>\n\n

The transplantation of follicular units from the scalp also allows the reconstruction or densification of the beard or eyebrows that have been over-plucked in the past. It involves the removal of follicular units by the free flap technique (commonly known as FUT) or the single follicular extraction technique (FUE) and their subsequent implantation at the level of the beard or eyebrow. The work is meticulous, with great attention paid to the angle and direction of the hair to achieve the most natural result possible. <\/p>\n\n

For beard transplants, the neck beard can also serve as the donor area.<\/p>\n\n

Regarding the eyebrow transplant, a light micro-blading of the eyebrow shape by our technical team (approximately 1 month before the transplant) is strongly encouraged to offer you the framework that will best harmonize with the proportions of your face. Micro-blading is included in your package.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n

Is a beard\/eyebrow transplantation painful?<\/h3>\n\n

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and is not painful. The anesthesia (lidocaine) itself requires only a few minutes of transient discomfort during its administration. A light sedative will be offered to help you relax.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n

When will I see the results of my transplant?<\/h3>\n\n

As a result of the surgery, the implanted hairs will immediately give you an idea of \u200b\u200bthe final result; however, these hairs will shed, and it will be necessary to wait a good 6 to 12 months before reaching again the expected outcome. A PRP treatment of the recipient area (Platelet Rich Plasma) is offered to you at 1, 3 and 6 months post-operatively, to accelerate the healing and regrowth of the follicles.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n

What are the risks?<\/h3>\n\n

The procedure is very safe and poses very little risk to the patient. Bleeding is minimal and infection is extremely rare. Disadvantages are swelling or small bruising at the recipient site, and tingling\/tenderness at the donor\/recipient level. Everything is back to normal in less than a week. Other disadvantages included a slight decrease in density at the donor site, which improved after 4 months. There is sometimes a slight erythema of the recipient area, rarely hyper or hypo pigmentation. These effects are transient, and your doctor may prescribe treatments to speed up their resolution.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n

Are there any contraindications?<\/h3>\n\n

Follicular unit transplantation cannot be performed in an area of \u200b\u200bautoimmune, scarred alopecia or in a site of active infection or inflammation. A complete medical history and a rigorous medical examination make it possible to exclude this possibility in most cases. Hair follicular unit transplantation generally requires that the texture of the hair be like that of the recipient area for a satisfactory result.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n

What is the post-procedure downtime?<\/h3>\n\n

Side effects such as swelling, redness and bruising can last 3-7 days. Most patients take at least 3 days off for their post-transplant recovery.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n

How long does the eyebrow\/beard transplant take?<\/h3>\n\n

In general, the duration of the procedure varies according to the number of follicular units transplanted: a morning for the smallest grafts and all day for the largest grafts. Other factors can influence the complexity and duration of the work. Your doctor can explain to you if your case requires special attention.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n
