BEARD AND EYEBROW
Follicular unit transplantation in the beard or eyebrow area is recommended to improve volume, shape and to fill empty patches.
The surgery involves the removal of select hair follicles from the back of the head and their implantation in the beard or eyebrows. This precise surgery is done under local anesthesia and lasts between 3 to 5 hours, depending on number of transplanted follicles.
The postoperative period comes with some localized swelling, itchiness, bruising, but these effects last only for few days, during which time it is important to stop all sport activities and physical efforts.
New hair growth will appear after just a few months; however more consistent results will take close to one year.
It is important to consider that the transplanted hairs will continue to behave as scalp hairs.
It means that the growth rate will be faster than surrounding beard or eyebrow hairs. Shape and texture will also be different. Adequate care and trimming will be essential to keep natural results.
